Ridley Scott has his eye on Gemma Arterton for ALIEN prequel?

Her track record may not be as awe-inspiring as some of her peers, but that doesn't make (the beautiful) Gemma Arterton an actor without value or promise. While her acting chops weren't pushed to the limit in the mainstream fares of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Clash of the Titans (ugh!), where she hopefully has checked off 'princess/damsel in peril' from her checklist of dream roles - she's been on the receiving end of much praise for her performance in the indie thriller The Disappearance of Alice Creed. Praise from a highly powerful admirer also it seems. According to Gemma, Sir Ridley Scott loved what he saw in the movie and now "wants me to meet for Aliens: The Remake or something". Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're not going to call it Alien: The Remake (Alien Harvest has been suggested, which is a pretty cool title). I guess Gemma's beauty makes up for her lack of understanding in naming conventions. Plus, she added "or something" to end that sentence so maybe Ridley ought to go with someone a little more, I don't know...enthusiastic? Currently: Damon Lindelof (Lost) is polishing the first of two prequel screenplays set 30 years before the events of the original movie, and once again revolving around a female protagonist. The movies will be big budget, 3D affairs, with Scott citing his intention to push James Cameron's Avatar as far as he can in terms of epic new technology blockbusters.
