Robin Williams becoming an Old Dog?

sd02-03.jpgVariety are reporting that Robin Williams is in talks to join the already cast John Travolta in Old Dogs. The movie helmed by Wild Hogs director Walt Becker is believed to be a buddy comedy revolving around two guys who become middle aged dads and has nothing to do with the similarly titled hog movie. If Williams signs on, it's a shame he is going back to the comedy routine after some really impressive dramatic performances at the beginning of this century. I loved his performances in Insomnia and One Hour Photo but his comedy roles do nothing for me these days. Some more news on director Walt Becker, from Variety. It seems he has been hired to direct Link, an action adventure comedy movie for Disney. Link will be based on a 1998 novel written by Becker "which concerns a paleontologist and maverick scientist who go in search of the missing link". Disney are said to be on the hunt for a writer and producer for the flick. Becker is currently scouting locations for his next movie Old Dogs, with Link set to follow. A Wild Hogs sequel is also planned (first pic has grossed $135.4 million in 5 weeks), the comedy Runt, a high school comedy titled Schooled and the Navy Seals comedy In the Navy are also on his busy schedule. We are going to see a lot more of Walt Becker over the next couple of years. source - variety
