Ron Howard eyeing Cache remake

cachehidden_bigposter.jpgBrian Grazer is set to produce a remake of the 2005 French thriller Cache, with Ron Howard eyeing to direct. The original movie which I haven't seen, starred Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche as a couple who find an increasing number of violent videos on their front porch. Cache, which is also known as Hidden in some markets, opened up the opportunity for director Michael Haneke to make a Hollywood movie with Naomi Watts and Tim Roth titled Funny Games, which is currently in post-production. Ron Howard is expected to helm an adaptation of the Dan Brown book Angels & Demons in the future that will work as a sequel to The Da Vinci Code and will again star Tom Hanks as symbologist Robert Langdon. I've really enjoyed Howard's last two features Cinderella Man and The Da Vinci Code (yes I liked Da Vinci Code, get over it!) but I will admit he has directed some stinkers in the past. He sometimes has an invisible touch as a director, which is not necessarily a bad thing. source - coming soon, variety
