Rumour: Guillermo del Toro to meet with Disney for THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ?

In the Brett Ratner/Snow White story that Mike Fleming wrote at Deadline yesterday, a brief mention is given to a rumour that Guillermo del Toro 'might meet' with Disney over The Great and Powerful Oz. I'm not putting too much weight into the story right now because A) If it were true, Fleming would probably know with his sources and B) Of course del Toro is going to be linked with every project under the sun now that The Hobbit shackles have been removed. HOWEVER; I could imagine the project (and any others that are readying to go) being interesting to del Toro because he could move straight behind the camera after a long break. And I suppose, it's a project that could lend itself to Del Toro's sensibilities. Last we heard - Sam Mendes turned down the chance to direct the Oz prequel to adapt Ian McEwan's On Chesil Beach, leaving Adam Shankman (Hairspray) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) as the remaining names on Disney's shortlist.
