SAW 5 writers have till the end of the month to complete the script!

Because of the writer's strike, the script for Saw V will have to be written in a matter of weeks.

Saw franchise. According to Darren Lynn Bousman they usually have a script completed by Christmas, with tweaks and re-writings occuring in the New Year before they go out and complete filming before the Summer. Well of course, with the upcoming writer's strike... they may not this time have as long as Christmas to complete the script. Infact by the sounds of it, they only have till the end of the month. David Hackl, the rookie director of Saw V spoke to Shock Till You Drop... "We have about a week to write the outline, then the script by the end of the month. We're really just throwing down the ideas now and it's coming together quickly," Now I realise that none of the scripts for the Saw series (especially 2 and 3) have been Shakespeare but a couple of weeks is a really short time span to put a script together for anything. Speaking as someone who is not a fan at all of the Saw series, it's become pretty evident to me that the franchise is getting worse with each film that is released. The dip in quality was particulary evident in the last movie of the series and with the secracy surrounding Saw IV and the time span they have for Saw V... not to mention that Darren Lynn Bousman won't be back... are we seeing the beginning of the end for the series? Saw IV opens in just a few weeks time and it's void of much competition after the other films in the genre ran away with their tails between their legs and were either released before the Halloween season (Halloween) or were pushed back to next year (Trick 'R Treat). The only film that was brave enough to go up against Saw IV was the vampire horror 30 Days of Night which opens next week in the U.S.
