Spyglass want us to play The Game

116.jpgAnother day, another movie about the the art of 'picking up' members of the opposite sex. This time there seems to be no 'pushing' involved, which yesterday was the premise behind an upcoming movie where men would lie about their lifestyles in order to attract the attention of women. Instead this movie recounts an average guy who frustrated with his lack of 'picking up', decides to seek help with professional seduction experts. The movie is titled The Game and is based on Neil Strauss' book of the same name with Dan Weiss adapting it for screen says Variety. Apparently the movie was originally set-up at Sony for Chris Weitz to direct but when the huge opportunity came about to direct the massive movie The Golden Compass, he obviously couldn't turn them down and the movie went into limbo at Sony, until the deal expired and Spyglass now own the rights. No word on who will be directing the picture at this time but I can't say this movie sounds all that exciting. There's not really that much of a hook from that synopsis. Guy can't get women... so he goes to a seduction expert. Then what?
