The Kingdom is delayed by five months!

kingdom1_thumbnail.jpgVariety are reporting that Peter Berg's new movie The Kingdom, starring Jamie Foxx, Chris Cooper, Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman has been pushed back five months from it's April release date to September 28th. The site claim that it's because of good reactions from test screenings, which has encouraged Universal to push the movie back so it can have extra time to build up some marketing momentum before it hits cinema's. Also, the Columbus Day Weekend that they are now vifiying for they believe to be more commercially viable than an April release after Easter. Jackass: Number Two being the prime example, as it made $29 million over the Columbus Weekend last year, which because of it's 3 day weekend, grossed an extra $14.6 million. A studio exeutive for Universal said this.... "We had screenings at the high end of extraordinary....The big and obvious points of the film worked, but also a great deal of its subtlety had an immense impact on audiences." You can see the trailer for the movie for yourself in glorius quicktime by clicking here. Poor Jennifer Garner, she gets about one line in the trailer. Is she bad in this too? source - variety, yahoo movies
