Trailer: Russell Brand & Helen Mirren in ARTHUR Remake

It's not the big teaser we know is landing tonight but it'll do for now. Here's the trailer for Arthur - the Warner Bros. remake of the 80's Dudley Moore classic comedy that finds Russell Brand as the spoilt billionaire who finds love with a working class girl (Greta Gerwing - conspicuously absent for the most part here) but when his fortune is threatened, he must choose between his own happiness with her, or marrying into another rich family by tying the knot with a powerful heiress (Jennifer Garner). In the showy part, Helen Mirren continues her left field comedic film choices lately (Red, anyone?) by playing his put upon nanny. There's Batman & Robin jokes, a Darth Vader reference and only slightly chuckling inducing gags but nothing that overwhelms us. And the attempt to trick us into feeling something for the trailer with those much loved David Bowie tunes came off as a bit desperate. The Jason Winer (Modern Family) directed remake opens hits on April 8th (U.S.) and April 22nd (UK)
