Two major bullets hit Bill Wisher's TERMINATOR 5 & 6 treatment

Gotta love James Cameron. Sure, some call him arrogant (which he is) but it's always refreshing to hear a director speak open and honestly in a business that thrives on misdirection and insincere spiel. Cameron doesn't beat around the bush, and just says what he thinks. He's earnt this luxury of course and many others would love to be in the position he is in to say such things. When asked by MTV whether or not he would come back to helm hisTerminator 1 & 2 co-screenwriter Bill Wisher's treatment for two further in-continuity movies, Cameron said;

"From my perspective, it's run its course and I don't know what else to say that hasn't been said. Plus, frankly... the soup's kind of been pissed in a little bit by other filmmakers, so I don't have any personal desire to go back to it. So I certainly wouldn't want to be a dog in the manger and disallow my friends from making a little money off it. Why would I do that?"
So that's one major but probably not unexpected bullet to hit Wisher's Terminator treatment because with Cameron on board, not only would the dream team partnership be reunited but studio's would have literally thrown millions into making the movie happen. The other major bullet is that Lionsgate and Sony are walking away from the negotiation table and it seems the studio joint bid is no longer an option as a source of funding for hedge fund company Pacificor. The chances of seeing a new Terminator movie in the forseable future once again looks slim. Cameron's quotes can be found in this video... Movie Trailers - Movies Blog
