Wonder Woman script review
The good folks over at Latino Review have got their hands on the script from newcomers Matthew Jennison and Brent Strickland for Wonder Woman that was recently picked up by Warner Brothers after the studio parted ways with Joss Whedon. As far as we are aware, this is the script that WB will be going with once they have found a director and cast. Some thoughts from Latino Review on the script... "Overall, a very great read. The writers did their homework. As a comic book character origin movie - it is just as good as Batman Begins......I can see why Silver supposedly took it off the spec market. If I was a betting man, I figure this is the origin story that Warners might stick with. My note to the studio is to not touch the script, leave it intact, get yourself a good director and shoot this script. It is all there on the page". Just as good as Batman Begins? That's high praise indeed. Overall, they give the script an A-... you can read the whole review by clicking here but it's almost a play-by-play of whole scenes from the film! There's something about Wonder Woman that screams CAMP for me but who knows. Audiences seem more comfortable with the whole "comic book superhero movie" gig now-a-days and I fully believe that if the X-Men movie franchise had begun in today's climate, they would probably have faithful costumes from the comics. Who for Wonder Woman then? I loved the idea of Sarah Michelle Gellar re-teaming with Whedon although she was never my first choice. Two other Buffy stars were..... Charisma Carpenter or Eliza Dushku! The role has had more actresses' attached than a certain Gotham District Attorney, and the fact that they no longer have a director on board, I wouldn't expect any casting decisions to be made for a while just yet. source - latino review
