Xavier & Magneto Posters From X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

Posters with our character subjects standing deep into the background are never a good idea because when the average Joe Popcorn is walking down the theatre lobby to get to his screening, he hasn't got the time to stop, squint and study a poster to see what it's trying to show. A classic example of a poster that commits this marketing sin is the recent one-sheet for Source Code. Another two have been released today with the character one-sheets of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) from the X-Men: First Class prequel. I mean I know what they are supposed to show - our two icons silhouetted with the shadow of what we know they are to become, but the whole image is too small to be effective. And when you have SO much classic comic book iconography that could be drawn from and with the costumes of the mutants being so recognisable, why create posters that could be from any bog-standard thriller?
