For several weeks now, rumours have swirled that none other than Axl Rose, lead singer and founder of Guns N' Roses, will be joining AC/DC as the band's frontman in place of Brian Johnson. Johnson, sadly, was reportedly dismissed after informing the band that he was suffering from severe hearing loss. While it seemed out of left field at the time, these rumours gained strength when a photo of Rose leaving the same rehearsal space AC/DC were camped out at surfaced in late March.

Were it to be true, it would be a rather historic occasion: AC/DC and GN'R are, after all, two of the biggest bands in rock music history. And even if it's not true, it brings up a rather interesting question of what singers out there have managed to front not one, but two great bands during their careers?

There are lots of singers who gave it the old college try, of course. Few have been successful, and even fewer still have led two bands that could truly be considered truly great. But sometimes the magic happens , and certain rock legends manage to prove they have the necessary chops...

10. Glenn Danzig

Even kids who don't know exactly who the Misfits are, the names of their songs, or who was in the band in its heyday seem to recognize the band's distinctive logo. It's a symbol that will live on well past the demise of any and all incarnations of the band itself.

Glenn Danzig was a founding member of the group, known for their horror punk style and frequent line-up changes. Within a few years, however, Danzig himself quit the band, and went on to form the metal band Samhain. While Samhain would find some success, releasing two albums and an EP in their original run, Danzig would have more success in a band utilizing his own name, Danzig.

As Danzig, the band would have a massive hit with the song Mother, and Glenn Danzig would once again be back in the spotlight. During this time, he worked with famed producer Rick Rubin, and wrote songs for the likes of Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison. Not too shabby!

In later years, the Misfits would tour without Danzig, but he would always be known as the band's founding frontman, and have his eponymous act to fall back on.
