10 Things You Didn't Know About Lemmy

"I don't wanna live forever, but apparently I am." RIP, one of the true legends of music.

It's truly a sad day when you have to report on the passing of one of the most important and influential figures in music history, but as Motörhead's own press release has stated when it comes to Lemmy Kilmister;
"Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself. HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT."
So here we are, in a world without not only Lemmy and his whiskey-fuelled outlook on life, but without the immortal snarl of Motörhead forever ready to kick into life at a moment's notice. It goes without saying that Lemmy's music with the band exceeded his own reputation (only just), birthing one of the most well-known rock songs of all time in the ferocious Ace of Spades, or giving the metal genre one of its core pillars of existence through the mighty double bass pedal-powered Overkill. Yes, it's a time to look back on all Mr. Kilmister achieved over the years, as like most rock icons that really soared to mainstream recognition across the 80s and 90s, you won't realise just how incredible a life they've led until the final chapter is written. All that's left is to grab a glass, crank up any song baring his name you can find, and read up on one of the true greats.
