8. Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen
http://youtu.be/fWNaR-rxAic Now, it could be said this video is supposed to be awkward. And if it succeeds at that, it's on a different level than what I'll be pointing out. Anytime Jepsen is singing with her band in the garage, she seems completely dazed or unconvinced that she's, you know, singing with a band. She shifts her body back and forth and does the normal head tilts, but her eyes sort of scream out like they're dead inside. She gets better with her "acting" when she doesn't have a microphone in her hand, but with us constantly cutting back to her "rocking" out with her boys, it just comes off as unsettling and false. She eventually seems to get into it a bit more mid-song, so it's fairly forgivable...which is more than what I can say for the song itself. Who am I kidding? It's infectious and is on every playlist on my iPod.
