With his latest body of acoustic guitar-wizardry Secrets That Nobody Keeps just around the corner (November 25th to be exact), the rather outstanding talents of Jon Gomm are finally being recognised on a much deserving scale. I had the absolute pleasure of catching up with him ahead of release to talk about what it was like approaching a new album after having the phenomenal viral-hit Passionflower in his back pocket; the multi-million-viewed technical masterclass of characterful playing and artistic execution that widened eyes on a global scale last year. Among other things Gomm has toured with fellow Youtube jaw-dropper Andy McKee, alongside inventor of the percussive guitar-body tapping-technique Preston Reed, both of which are incredibly gifted players also deserving your attention. However the time is now for Jon to fully capitalise on his success, regardless of how much pressure he may or may not be feeling, and until the album drops next week, hopefully delving into his incredibly talented mind will provide adequate substance in the interim.
