Guns N' Roses: 15 Obscure Tracks You've Probably Never Heard

3. Crash Diet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTlJCKSzHbI Source: West Arkeen demo Crash Diet is another track co-written by frequent Guns N' Roses collaborators West Arkeen and Del James. James has long been a close associate of Axl Rose, while Arkeen was friends with Izzy Stradlin, Duff, and Rose (he passed away from an accidental overdose in 1997 after his indoor barbeque exploded, leaving him with severe burns and taking painkillers). Crash Diet was intended as a Guns song originally, and the demo was laid out in 1986, again with a drum machine handling the percussion. However, the song never made the cut on any Guns album, and in 1993 a studio version turned up on Ashphalet Ballet's second studio album, Pigs, with songwriting credit going to Rose, Arkeen, and James. Ironically, that album was to be Asphalt Ballet's answer to the "grunge" movement, yet it's best known for including a GN'R song. On the Guns track, Slash has confirmed that solo wasn't his, and was most likely Arkeens.
