Over the next few years, big expansions are planned for the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida with brand new experiences, nighttime extravaganzas, thrilling new rides and new intergalactic worlds that have something to do with a galaxy far, far away set to take the house of mouse roaring towards its 50th anniversary.

That'll be in October 2021 if you're wondering and thankfully nothing on this list should take that long to happen. It's an exciting time to be a fan of Orlando's number one tourist attraction.

Here is your guide to some of the mouth-watering new additions that you can expect to see over the coming years, which promises to make the most magical place on Earth... even more magical.

10. Rivers Of Light

The imminent arrival of Rivers of Light promises to bring the nighttime to life at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Using the Discover River as its stage, Rivers of Light begins with an Asian lantern show and transforms the night sky with water fountains and projections.

Using a mixture of dance, lights, fire and water; two ancient nomadic shamen will tell the story of animal spirits roaming across the sky, creating the beautiful aurora borealis

Disney have constructed almost 100 lanterns for the show, as well as four ginormous animal spirit guides and a 28 ft Lotus Blossom as breathtaking centre-peices of the river.

Traditionally, Animal Kingdom has always closed the earliest of all the Disney World Resort parks, now it will stay open into the evening so its guests can enjoy a water and light show set against the backdrop of the Tree of Life.

A brand new seating area has been constructed and will be able to house around 5000 guests. Guests don't need to be seated in this section to see the show, but this will be the best way to see this impressive water and light extravaganza.

Originally the attraction was supposed to open on April 22nd, Earth Day, but last week Disney announced that date will be delayed. Hopefully not too long.
