Whilst shes gotten famous as an all-American blonde haired, blue eyed girl in the likes of Revenge and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp was actually born and raised in Canada. Spending her early life in Ontario, her first job was running deliveries of pet food with her father, an animal nutritionist. Not long after she got into dancing, and moved to Montreal to attend an exclusive school, living with a French-Canadian family. Which means that VanCamp speaks fluent French, almost more naturally than she speaks English - that was the language she grew up with, and which she learned to speak first. In fact shes so used to it that VanCamp has stated in interviews that she feels at home speaking French, more so than English. Shes also been studying Spanish and is semi-fluent in that language too, in between all of the acting roles and public appearances and the like.
