90s Kids The 1980s were a hard act to follow, as an awful lot of memorable stuff went on in terms of pop culture (movies, films and music etc), fashion and international news, but the 1990s did a pretty good job of keeping things interesting. As a result, the 90s were a really interesting time to grow up. They had almost as instantly recognisable an identity as the 80s did, with distinctive music, unique fashion and hairstyles, and a host of memorable newsworthy incidents. It was also the decade that made the transition from what today's kids refer to as "the olden days" to a society and culture more recognisable and similar to the one we live in today - technology came on leaps and bounds, political correctness and health and safety started to go mad, and entertainment and sport evolved into grander industries as they became all about money for those in charge of them and very little else. It certainly wasn't without its flaws, however, and those who grew up in the 1990s certainly encountered a number of niggling issues and problems. It is issues and problems such as those that this article is going to take a light-hearted look at. So, without further ado, here are twenty-one problems only 90s kids will understand...
