Brains are weird, and they get significantly weirder when you put drugs in them. Who'd have thought that putting certain little chemicals in a quivering mass of nerves and blood vessels could make its owner want to fight a dragon in the kitchen? Despite the fact that humans have been getting high for over 10,000 years, we still don't fully understand the complicated world of drugs, use and addiction. Ongoing studies are still uncovering bizarre things such as the effect that weed has on brain size, the potential curative powers of MDMA, or even what causes addiction in the first place (spoiler: it might not be the drugs). The effects of the plethora of drugs out there can range from the stupid and hilarious (i.e. fighting the aforementioned dragon in the kitchen) to the downright terrifying (i.e. getting out of your tree on bath salts and eating someone's face).
