10 Best Spurs Goalkeepers In Premier League History

7. Heurelho Gomes

Brazilian international goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes joined Spurs in 2008 from PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands for around £7.8 million. Gomes was undoubtedly extremely talented when it came to his reflexes and shot-shopping, but his distinct lacking in confidence and tendency to fumble meant that he was often something of a liability. That said, he was part of the team that qualified for and participated in the Champions League. After losing his place to Brad Friedel, he seemed all too content to waste away on the bench and was loaned out to German side 1899 Hoffenheim in 2013 and finally moved away permanently - joining Watford in the Championship - in summer 2014. He made 95 league appearances for Spurs and 41 in other competitions.
