10 Footballers Totally Wasted At Their Clubs

9. Oscar (Shanghai SPIG FC)

Plenty of players have succumbed to the lure of eastern megabucks and moved to the Chinese Super League, including top quality footballers like Yannick Carrasco, Axel Witsel, Hulk, and Nicolás Gaitán, but Oscar is one of the players who really stands out.

The 26-year-old Brazilian impressed during his time at Chelsea. He didn’t reach the same heights as some of his more illustrious teammates like Eden Hazard or fellow countryman Willian, but he was still a great little playmaker who scored some brilliant goals during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Before he left for China, Oscar had earned nearly 50 caps for Brazil. Since making the move, he hasn’t appeared for the national team at all. His international career has completely stalled and whilst it’s possible that he’s happy earning tons of cash in China, if he wants to really make the most of his talent, he’d be wise to move back to Europe like his former international teammate Paulinho.
