10 Players Who Stole A Living From Chelsea
Chelsea have a long history of hopeless signings, but who represents the worst value for money?
Painful though it is to admit, Chelsea have a long history of making utterly useless signings. It picked up rather aggressively in the early years of the Abramovich era, when every prospective target suddenly doubled their wage demands with the arrival of a new rich kid on the block, but there was certainly no shortage of hopeless arrivals to choose from before or even in more recent years. Of course, to qualify for this list, the player in question has to have failed so mesmerisingly that even the wages they took home for their time at the club feels like an absolute crime to anyone who had suffered through the embarrassment of watching them blunder across the venerable Stamford Bridge pitch. It can be players who were drastically overpaid and whose performances proved detrimental to the team, players who were drastically overpaid and didn't even play, even a player who breached his contract and forced the club to seek recompense through the courts. Hint: you're looking at him. In other words, these are the worst of the worst cases of players representing the worst possible value for money from the moment they put pen to paper at the club. It would be a good bet that most Chelsea fans can guess at least three of them, but who are the other seven...?
