5 Things We Learned From UFC 196 - McGregor Vs. Diaz

The aftermath of this event will greatly affect the UFC.

UFC 196 has concluded and after all the dust has settled there will be lasting repercussions that will likely affect the mixed martial arts promotion's bottom line moving forward. A card that was reshuffled at the last minute due to the broken foot of lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos, 196 was anchored by a main even that made up what it lacked in title implications with trash talk and anticipation. Nate Diaz stepped in on less than two weeks notice to take on the featherweight kingpin and oddsmakers had him as the clear underdog despite the fact that Conor McGregor was climbing up two weight classes to meet him at 170 pounds. The fight provided plenty of fireworks to go along with all the hype and the end result was shocking for both fans, the losing fighter and the UFC. The co-main event featured Holly Holm in the first defense of her women's bantamweight championship against the always-game Miesha Tate in her third attempt at the title. Would Holm be able to follow up on the biggest upset in WMMA history by using Tate to send a message Ronda Rousey, the fighter she claimed the belt from? Read ahead to find out everything we learned from UFC 196.
