Arsenal Transfer News: Arsene Wenger Plotting £70 Million Spree?

Mirror. And the Gunners boss has set his sights on Germany's Bundesliga, with three of their stars topping his summer wish list. Borussia Dortmund pair Robert Lewandowski and Mario Goetze are understood to be targets, with Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen also on the shortlist. Polish international Lewandowski is one of the most potent strikers in Europe with 27 goals in 37 appearances this season. He is valued at £25 million but is also wanted by Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich. However, Wenger is determined to land the goal machine to add more firepower to his light-weight team. His team-mate Goetze meanwhile is considered one of the most talented young players in Germany, and the 20-year old attacking midfielder has netted 14 times for Jurgen Klopp's side this season. The mega-money spree would be completed with the acquisition of Leverkusen's Lars Bender, who would add much needed steel to the Gunners midfield, which has been shorn recently of influential star Abou Diaby, who has been ruled out until 2014 with a serious knee injury. The need to bolster the squad has been apparent for some time now, and Wenger is finally prepared to bow to public demand as the Frenchman prepares to enter an eighth season without a trophy.
