Arsenal Transfer News: David Villa Wants To Join Gunners?

Barcelona forward David Villa wants to move to Arsenal?

Daily Mail. The striker has been linked with a loan move to the Premier League over recent weeks, however Barcelona are thought to be demanding a permanent move for the player, should he leave. The Catalans have told Arsenal they value the player at £16 million, whilst Wenger has a £70 million transfer kitty to spent this month. And the forward could accelerate a move to the Premier League by making a formal request to his club to allow him to leave, after becoming a bit-part player at the Nou Camp since returning from a broken leg. Wenger could partly fund a move for Villa by having a clear out at the Emirates. Flop Marouane Chamakh has already joined West Ham on loan, whilst defender Johan Djourou could join Hannover. The Arsenal manager is thought to have made a centre forward his main priority in the transfer window, with Gervinho set to be departing for the African Cup of Nations later this year. He has also been linked with another loan-move for former Gunner Thierry Henry, though rejected that idea earlier this week.
