Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners To Make £40 Million Luis Suarez Bid?

Mirror. Wenger has identified the unsettled Uruguayan as his No.1 target this summer and Arsenal are determined to show they mean business in the transfer market by making such a bid that would force Liverpool to listen, as stipulated by the player's release clause. Arsenal believe Suarez, who has returned to pre-season training with the Kop, is keen on a move to the Emirates as they can offer Champions League football next season. But Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is determined not to sell Suarez and is bracing himself for a bid from Real Madrid - though the Spanish giants only value the 26-year-old at £25 million. The Gunners are still in the market for Gonzalo Higuain but only if Real lower their asking price to £24 million, at which point they may go back in for him. However, Napoli are also interested in the Argentina international and Wenger is aware of the fact that if Real sell him to the Serie A outfit, that will give Los Blancos more money to make a larger offer for Suarez.
