Arsenal Transfer News: Mathieu Flamini On Verge Of Return

He was released by Milan at the end of last season, having spent 4 years at the Italian outfit. Wenger has a penchant for re-introducing stars who once played with him into his side, with Flamini set to join the likes of Sol Campbell, Thierry Henry, and Jens Lehmann, who have all spent brief periods back at the club in recent seasons. Arsenal are suffering from a mini-crisis in the middle of the park, with Mikel Arteta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alou Diaby all suffering from long-term injuries. Flamini is also a very versatile player who can cover the full-back positions as well, and with his previous Premier League experience, he's likely to prove a useful signing for Wenger. Arsenal's big targets at the moment appear to be Karim Benzema and Angel Di María, both of Real Madrid. They had a £10 million bid for Yohan Cabaye rejected earlier in the week.
