Arsenal Transfer News: Mourinho Tells Sahin To Join Gunners

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has publicly told Arsenal target Nuri Sahin he can leave Real Madrid this summer.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has publicly told Arsenal target Nuri Sahin he can leave Real Madrid this summer, according to the Independent. The 23-year-old Turkish midfielder has been linked with Arsenal on a season-long loan deal with an option to later buy the player outright. With the departure of Robin Van Persie imminent unless the club can convince their captain to do a U-turn, Arsene Wenger will want to quickly snatch the player up before Galatasaray, who are also reportedly interested in Sahin. Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho declared he is surplus to requirements at the club after suggesting it would be the best move for the youngster:
"The point is that he's a young boy who wants to play every match. He wants to play to be happy and in Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Lassana Diarra, Esteban Granero and Mesut Ozil, the situation is not easy.€
Mourinho did however add that he is always welcome at the Bernabeu and shouldn€™t feel he is being forced out of the club:
"If he stays, he's not a problem for me. He's one more solution.€
Sahin joined Real Madrid only last summer for a fee of £8 million from Borussia Dortmund and is seen as a replacement for the injured Jack Wilshere at the Emirates. Arsenal have already strengthen the squad with the arrival of Santi Cazorla along with Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, costing at total of around £35 million. Jose Mourinho has left the decision up to Sahin, although if he wishes to gain regular first team football he will be heading to the Emirates at some point in the near future.
