Arsenal Transfer News: Stevan Jovetic Rules Out Gunners Move

Metro. The Montenegrin international had been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer after boss Arsene Wenger made him his top transfer target, and the Frenchman, who has a reported £70 million to spend, was prepared to lodge a £25 million offer. But he will have to look elsewhere as Jovetic has announced he'd rather play for Juventus instead. The 23-year old said:

"I gave my all to Fiorentina, but Antonio Conte could help me grow at Juventus. "I have been at Fiorentina since 2008 for five very intense seasons. I feel I have given my all €“ and I have nothing left to give here. "Juve have been after me for a year, and they say they want me and that I€™m a top target. Who wouldn€™t be flattered by that? I want to move there so I can grow."
The striker's comments will come as a crushing disappointment to Arsenal, who are apparently struggling to land their top targets this summer in spite of their huge transfer kitty. Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain looks likely to prove too expensive while Wayne Rooney and former captain Cesc Fabregas look as though they will remain with their current clubs. Jovetic enjoyed a fine campaign for Fiorentina last season, netting 12 goals in 30 appearances for the Serie A outfit. He is viewed as one of the hottest prospects on this summer's transfer market and one of the more promising up-and-coming young players. At the age of 17, he captained the Montenegro U-21 side and has since been capped 26 times by the senior side.
