Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Rules Out M'Vila

Returns of Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere make a move unnecessary... for now.

the club's official website that he will not be making a move for France's highly-rated defensive midfielder Yann M'Vila, who was watched last season by Wenger's scouting team at current club Rennes. Wenger dismissed talk of a move for Yann M€™Vila, giving the reason that he is already well stocked in midfield:

€œNo . We wait on Diaby and Wilshere. When you look we have Song, Ramsey, Coquelin, Wilshere, Arteta and Diaby. In defensive midfielders and box-to-box players we are not short if they are all coming back. If we have setbacks in pre-season it could be different.€
M'Vila, 22, made three appearances for France at the European Championships in Poland and the Ukraine, but attracted controversy during the tournament. According to the Mirror manager Arsene Wenger was keen to sign the 22-year-old for £7.5million deal, but his interest waned due to his behaviour, including refusing to shake hands with his replacement Olivier Giroud as well as France boss Laurent Blanc when he was substituted against Spain. Wenger also took the time to praise the returning Abou Diaby, who is being given the opportunity to show his fitness during the club's tour of the Far East ahead of the new season. He, Wenger says, will be a major boost to the squad when he returns from injury:
€œYou can't imagine how happy I am firstly to have him in the squad, because he is an exceptional player. I am cautious but confident because he had two hard weeks and came through it well. This tour is another decider for him. He will play on Tuesday night and now it is down to uncontrolled movement in games: how does your body react to that? I am confident with what I have seen in training that he will do it. He is the first player who would be on the France teamsheet in midfield when he is fit. Laurent Blanc said that before the European Championship and he waited a very long time to know if he could play or not. But he couldn't.€
That return to fitness now seems to have confirmed that Arsenal won't be moving for M'Vila, who finished the 2012/13 campaign with a career-high 50 appearances, including all 38 league games, as Rennes finished 6th. Here's a highlight reel of exactly what Arsenal would be buying, if they decided to make the move... http://youtu.be/6_C5IoIKhgQ So what do you think Arsenal fans? Is Arsene Wenger making a mistake in ruling out a move for M'Vila? Is the midfield strong enough without reinforcement? Share your thoughts below...
