The Turkish international is thought to be surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp, having found playing opportunities limited in the time since he made the move from Atletico Madrid in 2015.

Arsenal - who could be in the market for new forward options if contract disputes with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil remain unresolved - were reportedly among the front-runners to sign the 30-year-old.

However, Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter could steal a march on their English counterparts, having been given "first refusal" on the player by his parent club.

But with Barcelona demanding €30m, the Italian giants are said to be pursuing other targets, among them Lazio's Keita Balde and PSG attacker Javier Pastore.

Turan is expected to field offers both from China and his native Turkey, although sources close to the player have claimed he would favour a move to one of Europe's top leagues.

With doubts still hanging over the futures of Sanchez and Ozil, Arsene Wenger could therefore be tempted to renew his interest in the former Galatasaray man.
