Arsenal Transfers: Schneiderlin Deal Definitely Not Happening

Saints midfielder won't be going anywhere despite reports.

Despite French reports that Arsenal might be looking to move forward with a deadline day move for £15million Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, Sky Sports have poured water on any aspirations to bring the player to London. As they usually tend to do on deadline day, L'Equipe started the rumour that there was a deal in place between the south coast side and Arsene Wenger to bring the key player in, but there is no truth at all to the speculation. The Frenchman is undoubtedly the kind of player who would improve Arsenal's midfield options, but he's too much of an integral part of Southampton's system, which is precisely why they were so keen to keep him in the summer (much to his dismay at one point). If Southampton can finish in the top four with him in the side, the decision to spurn all advances for him will look inspired, particularly as it would probably take a big amount to sign a replacement, which could only happen in the summer at this point. Should Arsenal go back in for Schneiderlin in the summer? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
