Benoit Assou-Ekotto Left Out Of Spurs' Premier League Squad

Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been completely left out of the Spurs squads for both the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League campaigns this season - this is in spite of the fact that only 23 players have been named in both, even though clubs are actually allowed to name 25 - casting a serious doubt over his footballing future. The Cameroon international is now out in the cold, with Danny Rose and Ben Davies well ahead of him in the left back pecking order at White Hart Lane and, after having failed to earn a move away from the club in the summer transfer window, he probably faces at least four months of total inactivity until the January window opens. Assou-Ekotto spent all of last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers and the 30-year-old was highly expected to join up with the Hoops and his former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp again this summer, but it didn't happen and he now finds himself in limbo.
