Chelsea Transfer News: Blues To Win Race For Edinson Cavani?

Daily Mail. The Blues have offered £42.7 million for Uruguayan international Cavani, while Jose Mourinho has also been given the green light to make a move for Bruma. Napoli are said to be "puzzled" by Chelsea's offer for their striker however, and are demanding the full £53.9 million of Cavani's release clause is met. The West London outfit are still some £11.2 million short of that particular valuation. Real Madrid, also an interested party, have yet to match the Blues' offer, which remains the biggest on the table so far, while Cavani himself admits the speculation is getting to him. The South American, who has just finished contesting the Confederations Cup, helping his country finish fourth, said:

"At the beginning of the Confederations Cup, I did not believe the market rumours would have given me trouble. But, at the end, I admit they have disturbed me a little."
Meanwhile, Chelsea could beat City to yet another of their targets, Sporting Lisbon's Bruma. The prodigious flier, 18, has been pursued by City for quite some time but the Portuguese outfit are demanding £8 million plus add-ons. With just one year left on his contract, clubs are trying to secure a better price for the youngster. Chelsea are also keen on another starlet - West Bromwich Albion's midfielder Issy Brown, 16. He has also attracted interest from Arsenal as well as Liverpool.
