Chelsea Transfer News: Demba Ba Deal Close, Frank Lampard To Inter Milan?

Frank Lampard to Inter Milan?

The Sun Online. Ba is thought to have agreed a £75,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge, whilst Lampard has been told he is surplus to requirements at Chelsea. The midfielder is out of contract in the summer, and has been told he will not be getting a contract extension when it expires. This has alerted a number of clubs, one of them Inter Milan, who are believed to be seeking a replacement for Wesley Sneijder. Sneijder has been told by the Milan hierarchy that he will not play for the club again unless he agrees to an "adjustment" in his current contract. He is almost certainly set to leave the San Siro in January. Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni has now set his sights on Lampard as a possible replacement for Sneijder, who has constantly been linked with a move to Manchester United over recent seasons. Meanwhile, Demba Ba was withdrawn from the Newcastle squad last night so that he could travel to London to hold talks with Chelsea over his proposed move, which the Blues hope will be completed before Saturday's 3rd Round FA Cup trip to Southampton. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said of Ba:

€œIt€™s done, he will go to Chelsea with our blessing.€
