Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard Could Exit Stamford Bridge This Month

Frank Lampard to leave Chelsea this month?

The Sun. The midfielder's contract is up in the summer and he has been told to find another club from January. He is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign side this month but the player is thought to be desperately battling to stay at Stamford Bridge. So desperate is he that he reportedly proposed a substantial wage cut, and would be willing to settle for a new contract worth £50,000-a-week, which is 66% less than his current deal. But even that appears to have failed. His agent Steve Kutner told The Sun:

€œJanuary? It might be. There€™s nothing on the table at Chelsea and I don€™t know what the club€™s thought process is. €œI€™m mystified at this report. Frank has no problems €” apart from losing to QPR he is enjoying his football.€
Kutner has also been quoted by Italian website Cittaceleste as saying:
"The only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season. €œFrank wants to play for a great side, capable of challenging for important targets and where he could win more trophies."
Lampard has been at Chelsea since 2001 after moving from West Ham United. He has made 570 appearances for the club and scored 191 goals, making him the club's highest-ever top-flight scorer. He has won the Premier League three times with Chelsea, along with four FA Cup's and the Champions League, in which he captained the side in the final.
