Chelsea Transfer News: Frank Lampard To Get New Deal

The Real Madrid coach will likely replace interim manager Rafael Benitez at the helm of Stamford Bridge in the summer and he wants Lampard to still be at the club by the time he arrives from Madrid. And he could be granted his wish with the London club now prepared to offer a one year extension to the midfielder's contract to keep him out of the clutches of LA Galaxy. The MLS side have been heavily linked with a move for the ace, while Manchester United, Monaco and several other Continental clubs are vying for his signature. But Lamps, who is just one goal shy of equalling Bobby Tambling's legendary record of 202 strikes for the Blues, now looks certain to remain in West London Mourinho is demanding £12 million a year to take over at Chelsea for a second time and he also wants full control over transfer dealings and the make-up of the squad, which is why Lampard could be spared.
