Chelsea Transfer News: Juan Mata Could Join Barcelona After Bust-Up With Jose Mourinho

Daily Mirror, Barcelona are targeting a summer move Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, who it is believed has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge. The 25-year-old Spaniard reportedly has been part of a big bust-up with new Blues boss Jose Mourinho, leading Barcelona to believe they could entice the player with a move away from the Premier League and are making overtures to Mata's father and agent. Mourinho, who was appointed the manager at Stamford Bridge for the second time earlier this month, insisted last week that he has not yet spoke to Mata or any other Chelsea players involved in the Confederations Cup but reports suggest that the "Special One" isn't convinced by the player and is looking to sell him. News coming out of the Spanish press indicate that Mata's desire for a wage increase have not been met, vetoed under Mourinho's orders. Mata was actually Chelsea's Player of the Season last term, showing sensational form for The Blues but despite scoring 19 goals in 35 games for the London-based club, he may not fit into the new boss' plans. The attacking playmaker has three-years left on his current deal at the Bridge and publically Chelsea have insisted the midfielder is going nowhere. He has been an integral part of Chelsea's play in his two seasons at the club and has worked well with Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard and youngster Oscar to form an ultra threatening foursome in the middle of the park. Chelsea signed Mata from Valencia in 2011 for a reported fee of £23 million but it now looks like Barcelona would need to offer up to £30 million in order to secure the transfer. The La Liga champions have already bought Brazilian wonderkid, Neymar for £40 million but with Barcelona€™s Thiago linked with a move to Old Trafford for £15 million, that money could well help fund a deal for Chelsea€™s Mata.
