Chelsea Transfer News: Petr Cech Linked With Real Madrid?

Daily Star. The Spanish Champions are on the look-out for a new No.1 with uncertainty surrounding the future of Iker Casillas, who has been left on the bench at the Bernabeu for a number of games this season. It is thought that Casillas' relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has deteriorated this season and Chelsea shot-stopper Cech is considered the idea candidate to replace the Spaniard in goal. Cassilas, a World Cup winner, is set to miss his Madrid's tie with Manchester United in the Champions League next month with a fractured hand, and the growing speculation that he could quit over his poor relationship with Mourinho has prompted club officials to step up their pursuits for a replacement. Cech signed a new four-year deal with Chelsea just last May however, tying him with the club until 2016, meaning Real would have to come up with a huge fee if they want to lure him away from Stamford Bridge. However, Madrid will have been encouraged by comments made by Cech shortly before he signed his long-term deal with Chelsea. Then, re remarked:

€œYou never know, everything happens fast in football. You can sign a 10-year contract and then leave after three years. €œI€™m 29 and believe there is still time for a possible change.€
Meanwhile, we reported earlier this morning that Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos have threatened to quit the club unless manager Jose Mourinho is sacked - something of which the duo deny.
