Crystal Palace Transfers: Betting Suspended On Rudy Gestede Deal

Blackburn striker could be on his way to join Pardew's revolution.

Having spent most of the day as favourites to sign Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede, whose price was apparently slashed with deadline day looming, Crystal Palace might well have just taken a big step forward in their quest to add more striking options to their squad. Alan Pardew has already signed Shola Ameobi and Yaya Sanogo, but reports suggested throughout the day that he was still in the market for another striker to help fire his team further up the league after a strong start came unstuck at the weekend. Gestede has been in good form for Rovers, and he does look like he could progress to the next level - as well as believing it himself - and now it looks like he could be on the verge of his dream Premier League move. Swansea, Hull and West Brom were also linked with moves for the striker, who has scored 24 goals in just 44 appearances for Rovers since signing from Cardiff in 2013.
