Everton Agree £2 Million Fee For Barcelona Star

Deulofeu has turned down a loan move, preferring to move to Merseyside permanently.

According to Sky Sources, Barcelona's young star, Gerard Deulofeu, is set to join Everton for a fee of just £2.2 million. The Spaniard, 21, has unsurprisingly found opportunities difficult to come by in his time at Barcelona and appears to have grown tired of loan moves. Speaking on the deal, Sky's Spanish football correspondent, Guillem Balague, said:
"Deulofeu is going to be transferred to Everton. ‚3m with an option of FCB to re-buy him later on for a price. He didn't want to go on loan."
The option to re-buy at a later date appears to be the only downside to what is an otherwise impressive deal. The winger impressed during a previous loan spell at Everton two seasons ago and will hope to pick up where he left off on Merseyside. Despite only scoring 3 goals in 25 Premier League appearances, his pace and trickery were evident for all to see. He had another solid loan spell at Sevilla last term, though his goal return was once again somewhat uninspiring - notching just the one in 17 appearances The Catalan is a product of Barcelona's youth system and made 68 appearances for Barcelona B, but has never had a first team opportunity. For only £2.2 million, the deal is a small risk worth taking for Everton. Story source: Sky Sports.
