Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that the club has made an approach to sign Leeds United star Sam Byram. BBC journalist Adam Pope revealed on Twitter that the offer is in the region of £4 million, but a deal is yet to be finalised. Whites head coach Steve Evans said that Everton's bid has been accepted, paving the way for the player's representatives to hold talks at Goodison Park, but was quick to point out that Byram is still a Leeds player at present. "Sam Byram has come into training today . His advisors are having a chat with Everton, but just because they're talking it doesn't mean it's done," he told BBC Radio. "If it doesn't look like being finished I expect to be able to play him." Byram, a Leeds academy product, is out of contract this summer having turned down a new deal at Elland Road that would have kept him there until 2017. West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Norwich City have also been linked with the 22-year-old, who has turned out 143 times for the Yorkshire outfit.
