Fulham vs Arsenal: Match Preview

The first Premier League game of the season at the Cottage sees Fulham entertain Arsenal with the two teams having contrasting fortunes on the opening day.

With Martin Jol exhorting his team to improve their away form this term they started with a very impressive one nil win at the Stadium of Light. Pajtim Kasami scored his first Fulham goal to claim the headlines but a dominant performance from new goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg stood out and it's a shame he was stretchered off with a shoulder injury just before the end. Arsenal's problems on the opening day have been well documented and although slightly softened by an excellent performance in Turkey this is still another potential banana skin for the Gunners. A lot of the Fulham manager's transfer dealings have seen him sign ex Tottenham players in Darren Bent, Scott Parker, Adel Taarabt and previously Dimitar Berbatov which is sure to add a little spice to this weekend's game. Bent and Berbatov will be looking to exploit Arsenal's problems at centre back where Bacary Sanga will again replace the suspended Lauren Koscielny with Carl Jenkinson filling in at right back. The rest of the Arsenal side should remain unchanged barring any bumps and bruises from Istanbul. Prediction: I think there will be plenty of goals in this encounter so I'm going for 2-2 source - bbc sport
