Fulham vs Stoke - Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Martin Jol will hope to secure the win that alleviate some of the pressure building on the Fulham manager as his side host Stoke at Craven Cottage. Fulham will be without Scott Parker, who injured his lower leg in the 2-1 defeat last time out against Cardiff. He joins Maarten Stekelenburg, Matt Briggs, and Ashkan Dejagah on the absentee list. Aaron Hughes is also a doubt. Stoke will give late fitness tests to Jon Walters and Matt Etherington. The Cottagers will look for a first home win since April 1st, and have lost three of the last four, resulting in a place in the relegation zone. That continues a poor run that has seen them win only two of their last 14 matches. Stoke started well under Mark Hughes, bringing a more alluring style of play for both fans of The Potters and neutrals, but City have picked up only one point from their last three games. Defeat at Arsenal was not to be unexpected, and the point against Manchester City could have been three if they had taken their chances, but a home defeat to struggling Norwich in their last fixture was a blow. Hughes will be hoping his side can bounce back to winning ways. Bryan Ruiz is likely to start after scoring from the bench against Cardiff, while Hughes may change his front man from Kenwyne Jones to Peter Crouch. Both sides have only scored four goals each in their six league games, joining four other sides in having the worst scoring record in the league. Whoever can put that right will surely come away with a crucial three points. The good news for Fulham is that in the last five meetings between these teams the home side has won every time. Whether another home win will simply stave off the chop for more week for Martin Jol, we all wait to see, A Stoke win could propel Hughes' side into the top half of the table, while Fulham will need to win by two goals or more to leapfrog their opponents.
