Liverpool Transfer News: Andy Carroll to Spurs For £16m?

Are Spurs about to bid for Liverpool's "Plan B" striker?

Whether or not there is anything in the Tweet remains unconfirmed, but Carroll has already been the subject of two highly publicised bids this summer from West Ham and former club Newcastle United, and it seems Liverpool are looking to cash in on their £35m England frontman. He has also previously been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, where Andre Villas-Boas only has Jermain Defoe to play up-front at the minute. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers spoke ahead of the game (via the Chester Chronicle) with West Brom about Carroll's future, offering no confirmation either way that the player is in his immediate plans, with the manager apparently calling the England man his Plan B:

€œHe knows where he stands. He is an important part of our group and that is how I see it at the moment. If you are a team that puts crosses in from all angles he is a great player in the box. But if you play a different style it is that much more difficult. Most managers have a way of playing and a Plan A in terms of the way they want to play. I will always try to make Plan A better before I go to Plan B. We will see what develops.€
Carroll had been subject to further Twitter rumours last night after a Liverpool fan by the name of Joseph Musker confirmed that Andy Carroll did not leave with the Liverpool team coach, and instead got into a separate private car: He also attached the following picture... Quite what that means for Carroll is unclear, but there is definitely something strange about his different travel arrangements, though the same tweeter confirmed that the player didn't stop for fans and refused to comment when asked directly why he was travelling separately. Carroll was a late substitute in yesterday's 3-0 humbling at the hands of former Liverpool assistant manager Steve Clarke's West Brom side, who also missed a penalty. What do you think Liverpool fans? Would you be happy to see the back of Carroll or should he be given another chance? Share your thoughts below...
