Liverpool Transfer News: Nuri Sahin Deal Confirmed

Liverpool have confirmed the season-long loan signing of Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin, subject to the player passing his medical.

Liverpool football club have confirmed on their official website the season-long loan signing of Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin, subject to the player passing his medical. A statement on liverpoolfc.com said;
"The 23-year-old will now undergo a medical on Merseyside."
The Turkish international playmaker becomes new Kop boss Brendan Rodgers' fourth signing of the summer transfer window following the acquisitions of his former Swansea players Fabio Borini (who spent a loan spell at the Liberty Stadium, but was actually signed by the Reds from Roma), and Joe Allen, along with the capture of Heerenveen winger Oussama Assaidi. The deal looks to be quite a coup as speculation from the BBC earlier in the summer had linked Sahin with a move to Arsenal before Liverpool seemingly swooped in and brought him to Anfield. Sahin made just 11 appearances for La Liga champions Real Madrid last season but after failing to become a first team regular, boss Jose Mourinho decided it was in his best intentions to ply his trade away from the Santiago Bernabeu for a season. At this former club Borrusia Dortmund he won the German league title and was named the Bundesliga's Player of the Season in his final year the club. He has 31 caps for Turkey and at aged 17, became their youngest ever scorer when he struck in his debut against Germany in 2005.
