Liverpool Transfer News: Reds Turn Attention From Konoplyanka To Chadli

According to a report on Sky Sports, Liverpool's pursuit of Yevhen Konoplyanka is now hanging in the balance, and the Reds might well be ready to turn away from the Dnipro winger in favour of a move for Spurs winger Nacer Chadli. Chadli had already been linked with a loan move to Swansea City, but the Welsh side have seen their pursuit of the player hit a brick wall, as Tim Sherwood ruled out letting more players leave on loan after Lewis Holtby headed to Fulham until the end of the season. And Sky Sports also stated that the player himself had no intention of leaving for Swansea as he wished to stay in the capital. Quite whether his opinion of a move will change now that Liverpool are in for him remains to be seen, given the different opportunities offered by the side currently fighting hard for a Champions League place. If Liverpool do abandon their move for Konoplyanka, there may well be further rumblings from fans who believe that Ian Ayre has failed in his agenda to strengthen the side and cement their charge on automatic qualification to Europe's premier cup competition. The news comes hot on the tail of the news that Brendan Rodgers had apparently made a shock loan deal for Manchester City full-back Micah Richards, which had been immediately turned down by the Manchester side.
