The Daily Mail is reporting that Liverpool are setting their sights on Tottenham defenders Steven Caulker or Michael Dawson as Brendan Rodgers looks to add a new centre-half to his squad.
They claim that the Anfield club will be looking to find a replacement for the possible departure of Daniel Agger, who has been targeted by both Barcelona and Manchester City this summer. Though Agger attests that he doesn’t have much desire to leave the club, he has admitted that playing in Spain is certainly proving tempting.
If he does choose to depart, new Kop boss Brendan Rodgers will be keen to snap up a new centre-back, and may opt for either of Dawson or Caulker. Caulker spent his last season on loan to Swansea, but is considered a prime Premier League prospect having recently made Roy Hodgson’s England squad, and so it would take a sizeable figure for Spurs to part with him.
Meanwhile, Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas’ likely preference towards Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul makes it unlikely that the less-pacy Dawson will be a priority pick for Spurs’ back-line, and so he would seemingly be an easier acquisition for the Reds. However, if Rodgers can make the right offer for Caulker, he would arguably be the most fruitful choice.

There is no way in hell either Caulker or Dawson would sign for Liverpool. Spurs ahve a better team, better manager and better prospects, both intend to prove themselves under AVB. PLus Gallas might go so i doubt very much we would sell players that intend to be his replacement.
