Liverpool Transfers: Jurgen Klopp To Sign Simon Mignolet Replacement?

Two new stoppers said to be in the frame for Anfield move.

Reports are intensifying that Liverpool have identified 'potential replacements' for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. Teamtalk reports that Marseille stopper Steve Mandanda and AC Milan's Diego Lopez are in the frame and could make a move to Anfield before next month's transfer window shuts. Although boss Jurgen Klopp has warned Liverpool fans to expect a quiet January transfer window, rumours are hotting up that he's not convinced Mignolet is the calibre of goalkeeper that will see his side challenging for the top four. Costly mistakes in recent games from both Mignolet and his understudy Adam Bogdan may have been the final straw that will see the German bring in a new stopper. French publication Le Phoceen claimed this week that 30-year-old Mandanda (pictured below) has been in "intense talks" over a switch to the Merseyside club. With his contract running out in January, Mandanda could be available for a cut-down price.
Italian outlet Calciomercato meanwhile carries the Lopez story. The 34-year-old veteran recently lost his place in AC Milan's starting eleven and could be available to new suitors. Although his future does appear to be uncertain, reports do suggest Mignolet is still in fresh contract talks over a new deal on Anfield.
